Still on top of the world

On goal difference..

Dizzy with success

"Southend United beat Shrewsbury (3-0) to claim their fourth consecutive win and move two points clear at the top of the table."

Read all about it

They say if you live long enough, you'll see everything. First the News of he World goes, then Murdoch has to pull out of the BSkyB deal.

Personally speaking, although I am glad to see his business interests suffer, it's not nearly enough, I want to seek 'one man, one newspaper' at the very least. Ideally we would see a lot more, possibly Rebekah out, Murdoch senior humiliated and the son hanged.

Well whatever is compatible with the Human Rights Act etc

So which one was is the president then..

You look at the image and know that the most powerful man in the world is watching his commands take place on the other side of the world, and you know how people are drawn respectfully around the most powerful. So which one is it, the guy in the green tie? The woman concentrating at the front? Maybe the blue shirt and the steel grey hair, sitting resolute and determined?

Whoever it is, the whole setup looks a lot less glamorous than it did in the Harrison Ford movie when they send the gunships in to get Sean Bean but miss him somehow - all of him and that outrageous Irish accent, however did they miss him, I know it was dark but really...

Game changer again

The web is starting to buzz together in agreement that whatever Apple has in mind for the 12 petabytes of server farm and newly doubled new server farm establishment in the back of whatever in Kentucky or wherever then it must be Apple TV.

Not the Mini clone or the second take updated black box for iOS (not iOS) but a full on Apple branded smart TV that is. Just what is a 'smart TV'? You don't know, I don't know, bloggers and feed writers don't know but everyone suspects that Apple does know. Everyone seems to think that they'll do to TV what they did to music players, phones and tablets.

That my be true, but I am not sure I like the idea of a smart TV, the dumb one is boring enough. Do I want the web in my living room (lounge/ front room/ parlour depending who you are or where you come from)?

Whatever it is and whatever it serves up the track record is pretty impressive even before Colligan said 'we aren't about to let PC guys come in and take over the phone market'. Similarly, when you think back to what Microsoft spent years and millions of dollars trying to promote as tablet PCs and then think how the iPhone and iPad were complete game changers, it makes you wonder what Apple will bring to the TV screen and the couch lolling masses. Web videos? New channels without regulation? Tie ins with massive American entertainment empires? Inane home produced videos. Hit TV shows of yester-year?

It would have to be something else, something that the channel TV guys haven't thought of an something that takes advantage of the web.

The web means direct access but to what? What hasn't been seen on TV yet or presented in an immediate and easy way. Your personal data as social media.

You on the web, the web is you.

Personally, I hate the web, it's a waste of time, full or trash and inconsequential rubbish that stop you from doing something else, something worthwhile, yeah that's right, that sounds like a perfect fit for TV.

Adobe Photoshop and what, Dreamweaver, how much?

Some ideas seem so great at the time that the obvious flaw is only apparent much later

There comes a point when you can't go on blaming the drones from Macromedia any longer. Subscribe to Photoshop? How much did you say? And what else, oh yeah Dreamweaver that world beater.

This weak I was asked to fill out an evaluation from Adobe (or their PR/ Marketing partner of the moment) on what tools do I want and use and, oh, would I be interested In an HTML5/CSS 3 app that took care of all the code for me.

Well anything that's not Flash for the web.. Well maybe but not what has been advertised.. But I digress.. Oh yes, and by the way, how did I feel about subscription for software (much the same way that I feel about organised religion, it's just not for me since you ask).

Then you see the prices they think that they can charge for this, stand by for a failure. They might get as many as ten or twenty people to buy into this across the world but then again, they might not make that many..

Photoshop and Illustrator are unchanged, the rest is just so much old pony and you're expected to cough up for it on a regular basis, think again- they will.

Bean is back: http://tinyurl.com/6dhshl6

Best free word processor in town adds tons of features http://tinyurl.com/6dhshl6
Starts up in a second or two, outputs to a range of different formats, uses the system auto correction, great look and feel...
The best free word processor at a price that can't be beaten. It's been a year or so since the last version and now a beta of the third version with all the features that will make Bean even more of a handy tool- tabbed files, sidebar, better find and replace and a load more including what is still the best implementation of full screen writing bar none. Give it a whirl..
